Precautions
Procedure of Use "After parturition, if the animal does not expel the placenta in time or if retention is prolonged, it may cause adverse effect on health of the animal which may become edgy. To cure this condition, 100 g dried thorns of ber (Zizyphus jujuba), 100 g roots of rivea (Rivea hypocrateriformis) and 50 g dill seeds (Anethum graveolens) are mixed and boiled in 2 L of water. It is boiled till half of mixture remains in the container. After cooling, this mixture is drenched to the affected animal with the help of drenching pipe. As a result, placenta is expeled of the animal body. Most of the people are using this practice in the village. It is a traditional practice. Other farmers using this method are:- (1) Mamad Alibhai badi (2) Fusein Alibhai badi (3) Fateh Mamadbhai badi (4) Abdulbhai Amibhai badi (5) Mamad Noormamad badi (6) Ranchhod Kuvejibhai koli (7) Vinodbhai Dharmsibhai koli"
Etiology Causative Agent
Global Context Retained placenta is most commonly associated with dystocia, milk fever (metabolic diseases) and twin births. In most herds with good management these causes make up the majority of known risk factors for retained placenta.
