PAS_1 Caesalpinia crista, Linn.(Leguminosae) seeds locally known as Karanjwahave been considered in the folk medicines anthelminthic, antiperiodic and anti-pyretic (Anonymous. 1956; Chopra ct al., 1956; Awan, 1981). Studies conductedby Akhtar et al. (1985) on the antiascarid activity of C. crista in buffalo 'calveshave shown that C. crista seed powder, its equivalent extract in methanol, andmorantel tartrate (0.0 I glkg) are equieffective against Neomjcari~' villllOliim.Glycosides isolated from the seeds of C. cri~'/ahave also been reported to exert ananthelminthic effc:ct against ncmatodal infection of sheep (Akhta.' and Aslam,1989), https://www.researchgate.net/publication/15389600_Comparative_anthelminthic_efficacy_and_safety_of_Caesalpinia_crista_seed_and_piperazine_adipate_in_chickens_with_artificially_induced_Ascaridia_galli_infection)
PAS_2 The Caesalpinia crista treated animals showed a significant bacterial clearance from the lungs (P<0.04), with less severe incidence of lung abscess (P<0.05) (Pharmacology and medicinal properties of Caesalpinia crista - An overview, https://www.researchgate.net/publication/313678924_Pharmacology_and_medicinal_properties_of_Caesalpinia_crista_-_An_overview )
