Procedure of Use |
"All parts of the thornapple (Datura innoxia) shrub that grows up to a height of about 1 metre in all types of wastelands are useful in fighting these maggots. Combined with tobacco (Nicotiana tabacum) thornapple makes a deadly vermicide. Rabari lures the hoof maggots out to the surface with jaggery and eliminates them with this deadly combination.Pound the stramonium fruits or leaves or flowers of thornapple and grind into a fine paste. Add a couple of pinches of tobacco snuff. Mix this to a warm solution of water and jaggery to prepare an ointment. Smearing this ointment over the hooves lures the maggots out of the deep crevices. The jaggery attracts them while stramonium and nicotine in the paste destroy them instantly." |
