Farmer Danabhai of district Amreli treat Bronchial cough in cattle. Uproot a couple of parkinsonia (Parkinsonia aculeate) weeds and discard the roots. Pound the stem, branches, twigs and leaves to obtain about 50 grams of paste. Add this paste to 100 grams of chilli powder (Capsicum annuum). Dissolve the slurry in 500 millilitres buttermilk and stir well. Force this concoction down the throat of the coughing animal. Drenching once daily for two to three days clears the windpipe completely and the animal stops coughing. |

Woman farmer Shantiben treat cough in animalby using pods of golden shower. Extract the creamy paste from the unripe pods of golden shower. Feed 100 to 150 grams of the paste to the coughing animal. Giving once a day gets complete control in three or four days. Equally useful are the flowers of the tree in controlling cough. Just 40 to 60 grams of flowers have the same effect. |
