The plant grows in sticky grey-black soil and fallow marshy land. It sports big leaves the seeds are fluffy. The grains resemble pearl millet but are much smaller in size. This plant can be blooming in abundance during monsoon.
Cook "Khichbo" grains or whole plants well and feed about 2 kilograms to the animal along with the usual feed. This not only improves the yield of milk but at the same time also improves the general health. Thakore continues to feed the supplement for 15 days after calving. |
